Astronaut Reaches Out
Posted on 03/16/2018
Billy French, a junior at Randolph- Henry, wrote a letter of admiration to NASA astronaut Jack Fischer. According to the NASA webpage, Mr. Fischer served as a Flight Engineer for 136 days aboard the International Space Station.
This letter was part of a NASA career project in his Astronomy class. Recently, astronaut Fischer, responded to Billy's letter with a handwritten note, NASA patches, and several photos. One photo says "Dare to Dream" and contains Jack Fischer's autograph. Astronomy teacher, Erin Davis, commented that" the room filled with excitement as Billy opened his large envelope from Houston, Texas". More astronomy students wait in anticipation, hoping that their letters will also be answered.
